Deborah, Assistant

I have assistant and receptionist duties.  These duties include handling patients, scheduling appointments, educating clients, and customer service.  I started my veterinary experience in 2003, joining the AHDP team in 2005, although I was an AHDP client long before that.  I enjoy the veterinary field and the relationships between pets and their people.  I have a strong interest in native wildlife and rehabilitate several species of WI wildlife.  My special interest is the care and conservation of insectivorous bats.  My family includes my husband Steve, and sons Jordan and Rolf.  I have 2 dogs Shep and Squeaker.  I have two cats, Pest and Carbon.  I am a member of AWARE (Alliance of WI Animal Rehoming Effort), NWRA (National Wildlife Rehabilitators Assoc.) and R-PAWS (Rehabilitation Program at the Wildlife Sanctuary.)

Susie, Assistant

My duties include receptionist and assistant duties.  I began working at vet hospitals in 1980.  I've had the pleasure of working for many great veterinarians.  My family  includes my daughter Kat, a photographer; Travis, a graphic designer; and Jason, a diesel mechanic in the Navy.  My furry kids consist of several cats and dogs.

Tammy, Certified Veterinary Technician

Some of my duties include monitoring surgery patients, performing dental prophies, and caring for hospitalized patients.  I graduated from MATC in 2004 and started working here April 2006.  Prior to working here, I was selling jewelry.  I like working around my fellow co-workers, the doctors are very pleasant to work with, and each client brings a different story to keep my day exciting and new.  My family includes my mom that lives in New Mexico, my dad and step-mom that live in Chilton, and my brother.  My furry family consists of Satin, a Snowshoe/Siamese mix, that I adopted from MATC and Ivy a three-legged tabby that I adopted from here.  I have lots of hobbies!  I like painting feathers, saw blades, and leaves.  I also listen to music, and hang out with family and friends.

Kristen, Certified Veterinary Technician

Some of my duties include prepping patients for surgery, caring for hospitalized patients, exam room duties, labwork, and client education.  I graduated from Argosy University in 2003. I have always had a strong interest in medicine and nursing care.  My furry friends are felines, Stumpy and Jennings and lab mix Ellie.  My hobbies include music, movies, books, and visiting friends.

Melanie, Certified Veterinary Technician
My duties include animal care and client education.  I graduated from MATC with an Associate Degree.  Originally, I started at AHDP in May 2001.  I took an extended leave in April 2007 to have a baby, or two.  In February 2009, I returned parttime.  I enjoy educating clients on the best care for their pets and watching puppies and kittens grow up.  I have a special interest in ultrasonography.  My family includes my husband, Andy, three children, two dogs, and one cat.  Hobbies include spending time with the family, camping, and fishing.

As a manager, I oversee training and communication of new and existing staff.  As a technician, I educate clients, perform dentals, and nursing care.  I graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Aurora, CO in 1992.  I started working at AHDP in 1992.  The favorite parts of my job include educating clients, dentistry, and behavior.  My family includes husband, Mike, and daughters Shae and Skye.  The rest of my family includes hounds Tess, Payton, and Lily; cavalier Stanley and our cat Milo.  Hobbies include walking, biking, and gardening.

Lauren, Kennel Assistant  & Receptionist
My duties include caring for the boarders, cleaning, and helping out wherever needed.  I recently graduated from West DePere High School and now am exploring my options for the future.  My employment here started September 2009.  I love working here with the animals.  I like the people and the environment that I work in, each day is something new.  My family consists of my mom, her boyfriend, and my brother.  We also have two cats, Theodore and Baby Kitty.  My hobbies include shopping, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

J.T. (Jon), Kennel Assistant

Kennel assistant duties include feeding and caring for the boarders and cleaning the premises.  Currently, I am a high school senior also attending general education classes at NWTC.  My animal experience started with volunteering at Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary before starting to work here in May 2010.  I like working here because of the hands-on experience.  My goal is to become a veterinarian.  I hope to specialize in reptiles and birds.  My family consists of my parents and sister.  Although we have several pets, my dog is Bear, a lab/husky mix.  My cat's name is Obi and he prefers sitting on people's shoulders.  Hobbies include fishing, paintball, and reading.
